Queens County ARES is working on restoring our weekly Net and we need your reports/suggestions as to which repeaters you can access from your location and what days/times best work for you to check in to the Net.
Until we restore our Queens Net, all members should check in to the NYC District ARES Net, which takes place every Monday evening at 8:30pm on the W2ABC repeater system, (147.270 / +600Khz / PL 141.3).
We are also seeking comment on establishing a QNS ARES HF Net. (NVIS). Would like to hear your suggestions as far as band/frequency and the membership capabilities.
- Planning stages for Hospital Comms Drill twice a year ongoing.
- Working on starting VCE TEST sessions every other month.
- Working on giving First Aid class, Digital Comms FLDIGI, DMR and NTS classes.
QUEENS COUNTY ARES is actively seeking new members! Spread the word about ARES to any and all HAMs you know! Active membership allows us to better serve and be prepared for any events. The more members we have, the stronger and more united we become, and the easier the events become as well, as it would allow us to rotate operators at each location, thus reducing the time “invested”. Easier to do 3hrs at an event and rotate, than to do 6 hours…
Please send your reports/suggestions/comments via the “Contact Queens ARES” tab at the top of the page or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Looking forward to hearing from you.
